📜 Community Charter

One person.
One honest idea.

No investors. No board. No exit strategy.

A skill-based gaming platform whose real purpose is to fund something the world actually needs — communities that own their own grocery stores, clinics, and schools. Not as a charity. As a permanent fixture.

Chapter 01

💡 Why This Exists

I kept asking myself: what would the world look like if the things people actually need — food, healthcare, education — weren't run for profit? I didn't have a great answer. So I started building one.

— The Founder, BetSkillz

Skill-based gaming generates real revenue. This platform exists to redirect it — not to shareholders, but into permanently community-owned institutions. Every allocation is voted on. Every dollar tracked publicly.

🧑‍💻
FOUNDER

One person. No outside money. No exit plan.

I built this. No team of 12 in a WeWork. No venture capitalists waiting to cash out. I take what I need to live and operate — everything else goes into the community treasury. That's not a marketing line. That's how this works.

Chapter 02

⚔️ How It Works

Skill-based wagering. No house edge. No luck. You compete on your terms — and the better player wins.

🎯
Skill only.
No card shuffles, no dice, no RNG. You win because you're better.
⚔️
No house edge.
Two players set the stakes. The platform holds, verifies, releases. We never bet against you.
📋
Proof required.
Both players submit results. Disputes reviewed by a real human admin within 24 hours.
🔒
Funds protected.
All wager funds sit in escrow — never pooled with operating funds.
💸 The Only Fee

1% of the total match pot, capped at $10 maximum — no matter how large the pot. Taken from the winner's payout only. No registration fees, no withdrawal fees, no hidden charges.

🌍 What It Funds

Gaming is the vehicle. Community ownership is the destination.

Food. Healthcare. Education. Housing. These are the things that should never be optimised for shareholder returns — yet they almost always are. That's the problem this platform exists to fix.

A platform that generates revenue through fair competition, and uses that revenue to build institutions people own together — permanently. Not a grant that runs out. Not a donation that depends on goodwill. A business that belongs to the community.

🌾
First Project — In Development
A Food Co-op

Where farmers are paid what their work is worth, and families eat well without a middleman. Food is not a luxury.

🏥
Phase 2 — Treasury Dependent
A Community Health Clinic

Healthcare that exists to make people better, not to bill them into debt. Walk in, get help, walk out.

📚
Phase 2 — Treasury Dependent
Education & Skills Programs

Skill workshops, trade apprenticeships, coding programs — run at cost, not for profit. Knowledge priced for access, not for margin.

🏘️
Phase 3 — Community Voted
Local Services Network

Cooperative childcare, tool libraries, repair cafes, neighbourhood mutual aid. Small things that make a place feel like home.

🧪 The Bigger Experiment

Every institution we fund is permanent. Cannot be sold. Cannot be defunded. It belongs to the people who use it — governed by the people who built it. You play, we take 1%, the community grows. Public funds. Recorded votes. Real institutions.

Chapter 04

🏦 The Treasury

Every dollar that flows through this platform is accounted for. Publicly. Nothing moves without a vote.

💸 How Money Flows — Step by Step
1
Two players enter a match
Skill only. No house edge on the outcome.
2
Platform takes 1% (max $10)
One small fee, taken from the winner's payout only. Never more than $10.
3
A portion flows into the Treasury
Tracked openly. Nothing moves without a community vote.
4
Treasury builds real things
Food co-ops, clinics, education programs — owned by community.
📖
Public ledger
Every treasury transaction logged and visible to all members.
🗳️
Community vote
No major allocation without a recorded vote. Always.
🔐
Founder's pay is capped
Operational necessity only. No profit extraction.
📊
Annual transparency report
Where every dollar came from and went. Published openly.

Chapter 06

⚖️ Legal Honesty

We know where the gray areas are. We're not hiding from them. This is our honest, good-faith declaration.

🚨 These are real legal questions we are aware of. We're operating in beta at limited scale and working toward formal compliance.

01
Is Skill-Based Wagering "Gambling"?
Under the Canadian Dominant Factor Test, wagering on skill-determined outcomes is not illegal gambling. Every game on BetSkillz is 100% skill-determined — no RNG, no randomness. We operate under the same legal framework applied to DraftKings Canada and other skill-competition platforms.
02
Business Structure
BetSkillz is operated as a Sole Proprietorship (Sarbrinder Singh). Formal incorporation is planned for later in 2026. We are transparent about this and will update this page when that changes.
03
FINTRAC Registration (MSB)
BetSkillz is registered as a Money Services Business (MSB) and Virtual Currency Dealer under FINTRAC — the Canadian financial intelligence regulator. This means we comply with AML/KYC obligations and maintain a 5-year transaction audit trail.
04
KYC, Payments & NPN Shield
Identity verification (via Shufti Pro) is required for withdrawals of $1,000 CAD or more per FINTRAC regulations. The platform fee is 1% of the pot, hard-capped at $10. A No Purchase Necessary (free entry) option is available at /free-entry under our Section 206 AMOE policy.
Chapter 07

🏛️ For Regulators & Government

We are open. We are not criminals. Everything is here. Nothing is hidden.

✅ Our Compliance Status
  • FINTRAC MSB registration in progress
  • KYC via Shufti Pro (ID + selfie verification)
  • $1,000 CAD FINTRAC threshold enforced in code
  • LCTR auto-flagging for deposits ≥$10,000
  • NPN/AMOE (free entry) policy active
  • 100% skill-determined — no RNG, Dominant Factor Test satisfied
⚠️ Still In Progress
